Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark
ABOUT
Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark spans 53 acres beside the Grand River—one of Ohio’s designated Wild and Scenic Rivers—and is anchored by the historic Harpersfield Covered Bridge. Built in 1868 and later renovated with a pedestrian walkway in 1991–92, this double-span Howe-truss structure ranks as the third-longest covered bridge in Ohio at 228 feet. A steel span was added after flood damage in 1913.
The bridge recently underwent a major renovation, reopening to traffic in May 2024. The park itself was established in 1961 and expanded in the early 1990s, when additional land donations and grants helped add modern amenities such as pavilions, restrooms, and picnic areas. Today, Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark offers a mix of historic character, scenic beauty, and recreational opportunities.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY & HOLIDAYS $50.00 PER DAY
The applicant shall pay the non-refundable fee at the time of reservation unless otherwise discussed with the Metroparks Office. The fee is for the original rental order, including the area specified below only. The fee will be forfeited if the reservation is canceled at any time unless otherwise agreed upon by the Metroparks office. If no fee was taken, and the reservation is canceled within 5 days before the scheduled “time and date out”, the applicant will not be charged a cancellation/restocking fee or the original fee for the rental order. We accept money orders and personal/company checks. Note: A fee will be charged for any returned check, regardless of the reason.
