To enhance the experience for all users of the Greenway Trail, the Volunteer Bike Patrol endeavors to provide the following:
Information-Bike patrol volunteers frequently talk with trail users, answering questions and distributing trail maps.
Assistance-help trail users experiencing problems, e.g., provide first aid or emergency bike repair (within your comfort level) or call for assistance as needed.
Safety-promote bike safety and courtesy. Be the “eyes and ears” for the trail. Violations or problems are reported to the Metroparks administration or the Sheriff’s Department. By being visible, the volunteer bike patrol tends to discourage crime.
Trail maintenance-volunteers report maintenance problems: may assist with maintaining the natural beauty of the trail by picking up litter.
Bike patrol applications can downloaded, picked up at the Bike Patrol building in Austinburg (on the trail) or by calling the Metroparks Office at 440-576-0717.
