With Kristy Belaney and Sherlye Bailey

Monday August 14th, Friends of Conneaut Creek Metropark  27 Blakeslee Rd, Conneaut     12pm-2pm

Be a part of this important movement to save our pollinators!

Visitors will meet in the shade along the tree line of this open meadow Metropark where they will learn about the lifecycle of our beloved Monarch Butterfly and the threats they and other pollinators are facing.  See how easy it is to help save their declining populations by planting milkweed and creating pesticide free pollinator gardens using native plants!

Several of Ohio’s beautiful native plant species will be blooming in the newly installed pollinator garden for admiring, and live specimens of Monarch butterfly development will be on demonstration. If possible, adult butterflies will be released that day at the park.

A second speaker from the Ashtabula County Master Gardeners will give a short presentation on beneficial insects.

As a commitment to encourage using native plants in your own landscapes, Ashtabula County Metroparks will be providing complimentary organic, native milkweed seeds to the first 25 participants.
